A bombing at a checkpoint in Somalia killed at least 15 people, authorities say

MOGADISHU, Somalia –

An explosives-laden automobile detonated Saturday at a safety checkpoint within the central Somalia metropolis of Beledweyne, killing at the least 15 individuals and wounding 40 others, authorities stated.

Abdifatah Mohamed Yusuf, the director-general of the Hirshabelle Ministry of Humanitarian and Catastrophe Administration, confirmed the deaths.
