Canadian police officer slain, two officers injured while serving arrest warrant in Vancouver suburb

COQUITLAM, British Columbia — A Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer was shot to loss of life and two different officers have been injured whereas attempting to serve an arrest warrant in a Vancouver suburb Friday, authorities stated.

The Impartial Investigations Workplace, British Columbia’s police watchdog, stated the capturing occurred when officers had an altercation with a person in Coquitlam, a city about 30 kilometers (about 18 miles) east of Vancouver.

The suspect, in his mid-20s, was additionally shot and is in a hospital with non-life threatening accidents, the workplace stated.

Dwayne McDonald, Surrey RCMP deputy commissioner, recognized the deceased officer as Constable Rick O’ Brien, a 51-year-old married father. McDonald stated he died on the scene.

McDonald stated one injured officer had been launched after therapy at a hospital and the opposite remained in hospital with non-life threatening accidents.
