The Winnipeg Jets have unveiled their new alternate jersey for the 2023-24 season.
The crew says their 1948 Royal Canadian Air Pressure jersey is a tribute to the unbelievable work and repair offered by Canada’s navy establishments over the past century.
Nicknamed “the Forty-Eight”, the jersey is a collaboration between the Winnipeg Jets, Adidas, the RCAF and the NHL. The retro design pays homage to the jerseys worn by the gold-medal profitable RCAF Flyers in 1948.
“The RCAF Flyers hockey crew was made up of military and air pressure veterans and 6 civilians, and so they made a big influence,” stated Maj.-Gen. Iain Huddleston on the unveiling, which occurred on the Winnipeg Jets Fan Fest Saturday afternoon.
The design options an “RCAF Blue” base, reproduction purple and blue striping, and the Winnipeg Jets emblem instead of the traditional RCAF roundel, upon which the Jets emblem is impressed.
The third jersey will make its on-ice debut at Canadian Armed Forces Appreciation Night time on Monday, Dec. 4 towards the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Winnipeg Jets will proceed to put on their Heritage Blue jerseys as their official third jerseys. They are going to be worn 11 instances all through the 2023-24 season with the schedule to be introduced at a later date.
