90-year-old man dies after being hit by van in Croydon

pensioner has died in hospital after a collision involving a van in south London.

The person, aged 90, was rushed to hopsital with life-threatening accidents following the collision on Friday September 15 shortly after 11.30am. He died on Tuesday.

Metropolitan Police officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance had been known as to the junction of A23 Brighton Highway and Woodfield Hill in Coulsdon.

The driving force of the van stopped on the scene however was not arrested.

The Met is urging any witnesses or anybody with sprint cam footage of the collision to talk to officers.

The drive stated on Thursday: “Detectives have carried out numerous enquiries and are eager to listen to from any witnesses who haven’t but spoken with police.

“They’re additionally asking for anybody with sprint cam footage who was within the space on the time of the collision to return ahead.

“The sufferer’s household have been knowledgeable and proceed to be supported by officers from the Met’s Roads and Transport Policing Command.”
